يكون غالبا فى بكتيريا proteus ويكون واضح و يصاحب هذا النوع من البكتيريا رائحة كريهة .

swarming activity is produced by proteus sp. in the nutrient agar and blood agar.l
there is no swarming in the CLED medium (inhibition of swarmig) because the swarming is produced if there is salt and the CLED has no salt (electrolyte deficiency)l
the MacConkey medium will decrease the swarming .l

definition of swarming:a progressive spreading by motile bacteria over the surface of a solid medium.

Thank you for you Idea ...

There some sentenses describe the swarning phenomenona

              ---------------------------------

Swarming is an intrinsically surface-linked and cell density-dependent phenomenon involving cell differentiation, extensive flagellation, contact between neighbouring bacteria, and in particular, highly coordinated migration of swarm cells.

              The migration of bacterial population

Swarming is a special form of bacterial surface translocation dependent on the presence of surface

1-swimming:is a kind of surface translocation produced

through the action of flagella, but is different from swarming and only takes place when the

film of surface fluid is sufficientky thick.

2-gliding: Gliding is a kind of surface translocation produced by an

unknown mechanism occurring only in nonflagellated bacteria. The micromorphological pattern

is highly organized in whirls and bands. The movement is continuous and regularly follows the

long axis of the cells which are predominantly aggregated in bundles during the movement.

3-twitching: Twitching is akind of surface translocation produced by

anunknown mechanism, occurring in both flagellatedand nonflagellated bacteria, but never due

to the act on of flagella. The micromorphological attern is varying but not as organized as in

swarming and gliding. The cells move predominantly singly, although smaller moving aggregates

occur. The movement appears as intermittent and does not regularly follow the long axis of

                      the cell.

4-sliding: Sliding is a kind of surface translocation produced by the

expansive forces in a growing culture in combination with special surface properties of the cells

resulting in reduced friction between cell and substate. The micromorphological pattern is that

of a uniform sheet of closely packed cells in a single layer. The sheet moves slowly as a unit.

5-darting: Darting is a kind of surface translocation produced by the

expansive forces developed in an aggregate of cells inside a common capsule and resulting in

the ejection of cells from the aggregate. The micromorphological pattern is that of cells and

aggregaes of cells distributed at random with empty areas of agar in between. Neither cell pair

nor aggregates move except during the ejection wich is observed as a flickering in the

                      microscope.
Everything is okay at the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end
