What organs and tissues can be donated?
Organs: heart, kidneys, pancreas, lungs, liver, and intestines
Tissue: cornea, skin, heart valves, bone, blood vessels, and connective tissue
Bone marrow/stem cells, umbilical cord blood


Will donation disfigure my body?
Surgical techniques are used to retrieve organs and tissues, and all incisions are closed.


Can I sell my organs?
No! The National Organ Transplant Act (Public Law 98-507) makes it illegal to sell human organs and tissues in the United States. Violators are subject to fines and imprisonment. One reason Congress made this law was to make sure the wealthy do not have an unfair advantage for obtaining donated organs and tissues. (OPTN white paper on bioethics - Financial Incentives for Organ Donation, June 30, 1993)


How are organs distributed?

If I sign a donor card, will it affect the quality of medical care I receive at the hospital?
No! The medical team trying to save your life is separate from the transplant team. Every effort is made to save your life before donation is considered.


Are there age limits for donors?
There are no age limitations on who can donate. Whether you can donate depends on your physical condition, not age. Newborns as well as senior citizens have been organ donors.

بداية ً أشكر أختي الواقع والحياد على الرابط المفيد

الصراحة وانا اتصفح الموقع سرتني احدى الاحصائيات كثير
وحسيت أن المجتمع بدأ يتثقف ويكسب وعي اكثر من الفترة السابة بكثير
واترككم مع الإحصائية

بالنسبة للحالات التي تمَ فيها مقابلة الأهل (289) فقد تمَّ الحصول على الموافقة للتبرع في (111) حالة (38.4%) (وبزيادة قدرها 63.2% عن العام 2005م) بينما شكل رفض الأهل للتبرع بالأعضاء (60.6%) من مجموع الحالات التي تم فيها مقابلة الأهل.

بمعنى انه لما قابلو أهل المتوفين دماغيا وحاولو إقناعهم بالموافقة بالتبرع بأعضاء المتوفى 38.5 من الأهالي وافقو على التبرع بأعضاء ذويهم.
الحقيقة النسبة مرضية جداً ولا كنت اتوقع اننا نوصل حتى لنصف هذي النسبة.


سؤالين أختم فيها مداخلتي:
هل انت/انتي على استعداد بالتبرع بأعضاء ذويك المتوفين دماغياً أم لا؟
وهل انت مستعد لتوقيع استعدادك للتبرع بأعضائك في حالة وفاتك دماغياً؟ الله يحيينا ويحييكم حياة طيبة لكن انا اتكلم عن تقبلك للفكرة والمبدأ :sm198:

س1 / نعم على أتم الاستعداد بإقناعهم أن يحصلوا على بطاقة التبرع
ولا سمح الله اذا حدث لهم شي لن أعارض

س2 / بالفعل أول شي عملته هو أخذ بطاقة التبرع

:) هذا الموضوع من ضمن مشروع اشتغلت عليه بالفعل قبل كم ترم

عن التبرع الموضوع تضمن بروشورات ولوحات وزاوية تعريفية ضمن اليوم المفتوح

ولقد تحدثنا عنه في السابق

وكان هذا الموضوع بداية سلسلة مواضيع عن هذا المشروع

وهو من اختيار مجموعتي التي عملت عليها

وكنت اريد جذبكم للموضوع ثم طرح مناقشة ثم حثكم على التبرع

A living donor, who can give a kidney, or a portion of the liver, lung, intestine, or pancreas.



About tissue donation


Donated tissues such as skin, bone and heart valves can dramatically improve the quality of life for recipients, and even save lives. Most tissues are donated after death by people who previously committed to donation (http://www.shareyourlife.org/CommitToDonation/index.php). Unlike organs, tissues can be donated up to 24 hours after a person's heart has stopped beating.



About cornea donation


Cornea donation is necessary for the preservation and restoration of sight. That's because the cornea is the clear dome-like window covering the front of the eye that allows the light to pass through to the retina, which enables us to see.
When consent for donation is given, corneas must be surgically removed from a deceased donor within 12 hours of their death. Very few conditions exclude people from cornea donation.
