    Nails as sorce of contamination

    if any one have an idea about

    how to cultuer and process nailes sample

    in microbiology lab

    to identefy the type of bacteria that grow

    under nails

    under nails skin is present
    so
    we will deals with skin or you can say skin culture

    how collect your sample

    1- if ther is discharge under nail you can use sterile dry cotton wool swab

    2-if ther is no discharge use a swab moistened with normal saline


    transport thes swab to laboratory

    then beginig the culture

    culture these swabs on the following media

    blood agar
    MacConkey agar

    sabouraud agar for fungal isolation
