and i found some Q related to your Q ?

    Down syndrome?
Hello, i was just wondering, is it possible to have twins where both babies have down syndrome?

Just to make one correction here for some of the answers...
There are many cases with identical twins where one has Down syndrome and the other does not. There are also cases where one has Down syndrome and the other has mosaic Down syndrome. And there are cases where one has mosaic Down syndrome and the other is not affected. Same goes for Fraternal twins
Yes and also possible that only one will have it. If they r identical twins both will have it if they r not identical maybe only one will
In identical twins, the egg is first fertilised and then splits into two. Therefore both twins have the same genetic material and if the origin of Trisomy 21 (Down's Syndrome) was present in either the egg or the sperm then both twins would have it.

In non-identical twins, there are two eggs to start with and both are released at the same time and fertilised by different sperm. So it's possible that one egg/sperm combination could present Trisomy 21 and the other not. It's also possible that both eggs could have presented a gene defect before fertilisation and therefore both twins, even though they are non-identical, could have it.

    So in short, it's possible.
