كل خلية بيضاء تحت العدسة الزيتية تساوي 1×10 9 او 1000/سم3
اذا عدد الخلايا البيضاء = 4 × 10 9 .
كل صفيحة تحت العدسة الزيتية تساوي 20000 (او في بعض المصادر تقول انها تساوي 25000)
اذا 13 × 20000 = 260 × 10 9 او 260000 /سم3
