Types of abnormal hemoglobin.
1_hemoglobin S
composed of tow alpha and two beta chain, abnormality results from asubstitution of the amino acid valine for glutamic acid at the sixth position in the normal beta chain
#causes sickling of the red blood cells under condition of reduced oxygen concentration
found in blacks
2-hemoglobin C
abnormality results from a substitution of the amino acid lysine for glutamic acid at the sixth position in the normal beta chain
when hemoglobin C present ,the red blood cells appear as target cells
found primarily in blacks and only rarely in whites
3_hemoglobin H
contain only four beta chain
4_hemoglobin Bart"s
composed of four gamma chain
5_HEMOGLOBIN D
6_hemoglobin E
ِ A question to the intelligent practitioners does the RBC contain one type of hemoglobin or does it contain a mixture of more than one type (I mean here Hb-A , Hb-A2, and Hb-F)?
