فقدان كلا من الانزيمات الثلاثة يدلل على ان البكتيريا تعيش فى ظروف خالية من الاكسجين
لا علاقة كبيرة لوجود هذة الانزيمات باحداث الاصابة على الرغم من ان البكتيريا التى تعيش فى وجود الاكسجين يكون لها القدرة على المعايشة فى جسم العائل بشكل اكبر

milk litmus media
the explanation of results:
Milk is a complex nutritional source that contains proteins (mainly casein) in an aqueous solution of lactose and minerals. Bacterial enzymes alter the media and may bring about various changes. Litmus is added to the medium to detect pH changes that may occur as a result of these enzymatic reactions. Above a pH of 8.3 litmus is blue, while below a pH of 4.5 litmus is red.
By producing acid from the fermentation of lactose present in milk a bacterium may also cause the milk to curdle or clot in the bottom of the tube.
The casein may be metabolized all the way down to individual amino acids. This process, called peptonization, results in a clear (not milky) liquid that is usually brown in color
